What is sublimation? Let me explain.

Sublimation is the process of changing the image of an item, but not the form. In the crafting world, when the word sublimation is used, it is referred to as dye sublimation. This is a print and transfer method that is used to print a high-quality design. Sublimation uses a special ink, sublimation ink, that is used to create these wonderful designs. To create such images, a sublimation printer is needed, or a printer can be converted to a sublimation printer by using the sublimation ink instead of regular printer ink. When the image is printed it is dull, but this is part
of the process. The image is then applied to a specially coated item using high heat and pressure. During this process the image is changed from a solid, to a gas, and is transferred permanently to the item. Once the item cooled, the sublimation ink becomes solid and is embedded in the item, lasting as long as the item does.
